DISABILITY EMPHASIS WEEK

This week is “Disability Emphasis Week”. I don’t know if it is a National Week, or a week the CRC designates as Disability Emphasis Week. In any event our guest preacher today is the Director of Disability concerns of the CRC. As expected his sermon was in connection with his position and with the designation for this week. The director has a severely disabled daughter himself and his firsthand acquaintance with the situation makes him able to treat his subject thoughtfully and with compassion. AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH

Today I spent part of a birthday (or Christmas?) present from Jim and Jennifer to rent the DVD, “An Inconvenient Truth”.

 

I remember some time ago, playing golf with Tony and Bruce, that I made some comment that, caused Tony to exclaim, “hey dad, guess what, gramps is a tree hugger”. Now that I have seen the film, I am even more of a confirmed tree hugger.

 

I don’t know the elevation of Murrieta, but I do know the elevation of San Diego, and unless something drastic happens soon, Reuben should consider buying his kids water wings. Maybe by that time, they will be old enough and smart enough to seek higher ground.

WINNING SCORE

Today, after completing his round, Phil Mickelson stated unequivocally that over par is going to win the Masters. Tomorrow we will see if Phil knows what he is talking about. Several others, even as early as Thursday predicted an over par winning score.
