The other night I saw Jennifer Granholm (Michigan Governor) as she joined the announcers of the Tiger’s baseball game. What a nice and knowledgeable person. She is in a race for the governorship with Amway founders son, Dick De Vos. I was thinking of writing a blog about the two, actually I did, but it got too long and became too snide, so I gave it up and just recommend that you read these two Wikipedia posts.

Dick De Vos:

Jennifer Granholm:

Please! who should I vote for?

Back-to-back great posts! I would go with Jennifer rather than Dick – basing my decision strictly on the names of the contestants.

DeVos seems like a Steinbrenner type of dude. Able to buy whatever he wants.

Seriously though, I can’t see how it will make much difference until Detroit figures out how to design and make attractive cars. The orientals are running roughshod all over them. (Either of the two baby-killers? Wiki didn’t say.)

Well I doubt if Dick is. Jennifer being a Democrat might possibly be. Should I email her and find out.

I think Dick is just riding on his dad’s coat tails. His campaign is based on his business acumen, but it doesn’t take much business sense to let your dad plan your caReer.

By the way, ever hear of Northwood University?

Nope, never heard of it. What is it? Is it like National University? BTW, business acument may be what Michigan needs since its big problems are economic – i.e. does Amway sell cars?

It is a college, apparently started by Dick’s dad and specializes in teaching marketing techniques. I thought to be called a University the school must offer advanced degrees, Master’s and Doctor’s. What I’ve read of the school doesn’t seem that it really qualifies to be a University.
Since we are talking about institiutions, ever hear of Blackwater USA? It was recently in the news. It was founded by Dick’s wife’s brother, Erik Prince.
